Specials are a fantastic way to fill your appointment book. It is much better to fill an appointment space at a reduced rate than to let it go empty. As you’ve read above, your specials could also be chosen to be featured in a weekly mylocalsalon specials email and on PRIMPED.com.au.
Here are some important things to know about specials on mylocalsalon:
- The special should be clear and concise – a customer needs to see clearly what they are going to receive when booking a special.
- Please do not alter the price of your services in Shortcuts. Keep them at the full standard pricing as the mylocalsalon website will add the discount for you when you set this up.
- When combining services for a special (e.g. a cut and colour for $75), you will need to create a new service in Shortcuts with multiple blocks, with each block representing an individual service. Specials cannot be created for combinations of services and products.
- Set up a discount reason in Shortcuts which clearly represents the special. This discount can then be applied when checking out the client.
- The discount reason should include the “voucher code” number as this code is e-mailed to the client when they make their “specials” booking with you and confirming their appointment.
- The special’s “description” should describe what is included in the service they are booking. Similar to when booking a weekend away, you can see the inclusions of the package (e.g. “Free continental breakfast for two, bottle of wine on arrival, free valet parking”).
Some examples of descriptions:
- “New Year Beauty Kickstart package including a deluxe facial, massage, manicure and pedicure, all for just $X. Save $Y!”
- “Spring Special includes; 1 hour facial, eyelash tint, body polish and spray tan, all for just $X!”
- “20% off all services; available Monday to Wednesday with selected stylists.”
